Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen play good girl/bad girl sisters who suddenly find themselves on a high-speed chase escaping crooks, attracting hunks, and wreaking havoc in this lightweight comedy set in the Big Apple. Ashley plays high school scholar Jane Ryan, an overachiever with her sights set on winning a college scholarship competition. Mary-Kate plays her sister, Roxy, a rebellious teen truant who would rather be a rock star than a student. Since their mother's death, the sisters' relationship has been strained. Now their worlds collide when a day in Manhattan forces Jane and Roxy to join forces, overcoming their differences to battle an international smuggling ring while trying to make it in time for Jane's competition. While the script is predictably bland, viewers will enjoy the comedic strengths of Eugene Levy (Serendipity, American Pie) as Roxy's ubiquitous truant officer. Though the twins manage some decent slapstick, their sensuality, sexual innuendo, and suggestive disrobing is disappointing. DVD bonus features include some hilarious bloopers and alternate endings. Synopsis
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen prove they've graduated from their child protege status with this sassy comedy from director Dennie Gordon (WHAT A GIRL WANTS). The teenage duo play Long Island-based twins Roxy (Mary-Kate) and Jane (Ashley), who may be identical in appearance, but rarely see eye-to-eye in their personal lives. On a Manhattan-bound train, the rebellious Roxy plans on cutting class, attending a rock video shoot, and presenting her demo tape to the band's manager. Meanwhile, the straight-laced Jane is heading to Columbia University, where she hopes to gain a college scholarship. Disaster strikes when the duo are unceremoniously dumped from the train, and a shady criminal places a microchip in Roxy's bag. Help is at hand in the form of Bennie Bang (Andy Richter), who offers the twins a ride in his limo. But he is actually after the microchip they unknowingly possess. Fleeing his clutches, Jane leaves her precious dayplanner in the car, and a screwball chase around Manhattan begins. Bennie is in hot pursuit, but so is Max Lomax (Eugene Levy), Roxy's truancy officer who is determined to catch the errant twin. Some crazy capers throughout the Big Apple ensue, and various set pieces are engineered to show off the vivacious and endearing charms of the two sisters. Levy and Richter give suitably wacky turns in their supporting roles, and the city of New York provides a glorious backdrop for the Olsens' acting talents.

The BEST mk and a movie EVER!!
Im 13 and i think this movie is fab. Most of mary-kate and ashleys films are annoying and all very perfect, but this one is real, and funny, and alot less sickening. Mary-kate plays a rock chick rebel who wants to go to a concert, so she joins her sister, ashley(jane) on her way to a speech for a scholarship. Mary-kates charcter is really funny and so is ashleys. The storyline is hilarious - its not a mary-kate and ashley film - its a REAL film. The best mk and a movie definitely, it measures up to mean girls and other teen movies.

the best olsen twin flim to date
this is the best flim they have ever done it's nothing like they old stuff it's so grown up for them this flim has a plot,it's funny,it's has it's sad bits and it's not all about boys and u.s saying like they old movies. Even with all this stuff about mary-kate i still think she pull off her best acting to date [also like to take this time to say hope you get well soon m-k]so for all you mary-kate and ashley fan you are just going to love it and for all the people who are still thinking the olsen twins are so teeny you are so wrong just watch the flim and you will see i give this 10/10 xxxxxxx

my little girl loved this film.if you want a film for your children then you can,t go wrong with this.good clean fun. ( my little girl is 8 )my son also enjoyed it and he is 12.
