Customer Reviews
Brilliant
I got this game a few days ago. I thought this was gonna be just the same as the other RTS games. Espiecally Empire Earth, but I was surprised how well it is.
The graphics are good...and even with a few hundred units on the screen at once, it still didn't slow down at the top effects.
If you enjoy Strategy games, then this is worth the buy...as it includes the expansion pack as well.
Don't even wait to read this review just buy it!
Um...pretty much said all I needed to in the title, but here goes. The graphics are a bit dated, looking like a clone of Ages of Empires II. But it goes so much deeper than looks... Rise of Nations provides far too many hours of fun with varied factions to choose from all with differing strengths and weaknesses, with unique units to benifit from. There are different methods of playing the game, too, from Conquer the World or following in the footsteps of a great general to an all out struggle for the post-modern era and those all important nuclear defences against too many computor foes for comfort. Just stop reading and buy it if you like Age of Empires, the Total War series, Total Annihilation, Starcraft, Warcraft or any other strategy game you really should have played by now
An oldie but a goodie.
Ok, so this game is a bit dated. However, if, like my son, you have an old computer that can't handle the newer games, then this represents a great bargain. Besides, in 2003, games weren't that bad. Its not as if its 4 colour CGA graphics or anything.
If you like RTS and don't require the latest graphics then give this a whirl.
