Manufacturer's Description
One look at the Nintendo GameCube hardware and you know it's different. The compact shape is not only practical--the unique design is symbolic of Nintendo's commitment to focus on creating the world's most original and innovative video games.
The GameCube is Nintendo's first video game console to access game data through a disc rather than a cartridge. Each disc holds an incredible 1.5 gigabytes of information, but has a diameter of only three inches. The disc drive and processor work together with awesome speed, which makes load times hardly noticeable.
The GameCube Controller provides the crucial connection between the player and the game. Two analog Control Sticks, a built-in rumble feature and flawless ergonomic design ensure that the Controller feels and plays perfectly.
On their own, Game Boy Advance and GameCube are each powerhouse game systems. Together, they make an awesome team. Using the GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable, the Game Boy Advance can be connected directly to the GameCube. The features available will change depending on the game, from exchanging data or unlocking new game levels to allowing the Game Boy Advance to be used as a supplemental game screen or input device. Look carefully at game packaging to see which games are compatible with the cable.

Nintendo at their best - again
The Gamecube has been unfairly tagged, yet again, as a kiddie console and Nintendo really do only have themselves to blame for this, releasing the Gamecube in 'Fisher Price' purple! Those that own a CUBE though realise that underneath that purple exterior is a meaty games console more than worthy of its place among the next gen consoles. Nintendo released the platinum cube sometime ago now with the release of Zelda the Windwaker but here it is agin bundled in with Mario Kart Double Dash. WOW, a beautiful silver coloured CUBE and the superb MKDD, what a package! If you dont own a Gamecube and are considering one then consider no more and get yourself one of these truly great consoles packaged with Mario Kart. The console looks gorgeous and the game is an absolute hoot, great on your own or even better with 4 mates on multiplayer. Mario Kart really is Nintendo at their best. No other games producer ever comes near the quality of Nintendo and its a shame the gaming public dont seem to realise this. Redeem yourself now and get out and buy this console this Christmas, you really will appreciate the Nintendo difference!
best console ever!
I rate consoles on two counts- firstly graphics, and secondly the quality of games. On both of these counts the gamecube beats all other competition. Firstly the graphics. They easily outshine anything on the playstation 2, and resi 4s graphics beat halo any day.
Many people critisise the gamecube for only having childrens games, these people are ignorant and wrong. The gamecube does infact have a far bigger age range than any other console, catering for the young with the likes of mario and pokemon, right up to the older adults with resident evil 4 ( possibly the most violent game on any console) zelda, and metroid prime. This makes the cube perfect for a game loving family.
And all of this in a console thats barely any bigger than a lunchbox! If you love games and dont care what you freinds think, then this is the console for you! No other console has this amount of quality games, and the likes of zelda can not be found anywhere else. Whearther youre a child who loves pokemon, or an adult who loves violence the cube is for you!
GameCube And Double Dash
The GameCube is a superb piece of equipment. It's a console ANYONE can enjoy. Let's break it down.
- It has 4 controller ports. You don't have to go out and buy a multi-tap.
- It's got all your favourite classics. Mario... Zelda... Donkey Kong. If you're a retro gamer just like I am, you'll appreciate these games a hell of a lot more than if you were new to them.
- It's small. It's tiny. I can fit it in my rucksack, no troubles and whip it to my friends house and still fit all the other rubbish I need in my bag.
- Games are cheap. Yup. You made have to go for second hand games (pre-owned) but it's worth it. I picked up a copy of Double Dash!! for only £15 and it works fine.
I recommend it if you want a console which you can have fun with your friends on. Playing with this console alone isn't as fun as with friends.
Now onto the Mario Kart.
Double Dash is yet another superb mario kart game, far superior than Mario Kart 64 and coming up close on the original classic on the snes. As stated before, it's boring 1 player. You'll the first cup in Grand Prix and get bored.
But wait! Call around a friend or 3 and you've got yourself an amazingly fun game. You won't be able to put this down as you're gliding round corners, getting your friend to fire weapons and tilt in co-op mode, or battling it out with each other in battlemode.
This game can be played by all ages. My 9 year old sister sits and watches me play and I know people in their 40s who think it's brilliant.
I recommend this package.
