Amazon.co.uk Review
The turbulent lives of two handsome and high-priced Miami plastic surgeons may be one of the more unusual premises for a television series, but the FX Channel's Nip/Tuck combines sudsy sex and biting wit with the emotional quandaries involved in body modification in a way that makes for an engrossing--and occasionally gross--hourlong drama. The show benefits greatly from its two leads--Dylan Walsh as the troubled "good" surgeon and Julian McMahon as his predatory (but equally troubled) "bad" partner--as well as Joely Richardson as Walsh's wife and Roma Maffia as the surgeons' nurse. If Nip/Tuck does have a stumbling point, it's in its occasionally glib dialogue (series creator Ryan Murphy was a writer for the verbally flashy high school series Popular), which can clash with an episode's more dramatic and poignant moments. The show also doesn't shy away from showing the more gruesome aspects of plastic surgery, but viewers can often see more stomach-churning images on the top-rated CSI. But the strength of the performances and the originality of the premise make these rough spots manageable for viewers looking for an interesting spin on the usual "doctor show." --Paul Gaita

Synopsis
Series 2 of NIP/TUCK features more trials and tribulations for a couple of Miami plastic surgeons.

Customer Reviews

Tremendous, riveting series! My son and I are hooked!5
From the off, Nip Tuck has been like no other series on television. Fast paced plots played out by complex characters within strong storylines means that at no point will you ever be bored with this show! Each episode can be watched in isolation yet all episodes within the season fit together so well that the progression of the McNamara-Troy enterprise can be followed over weeks, months and years. The show has the ideal mix of heavy drama, comedy, irony, sex and heartaching pathos. Oh, and cutting edge plastic surgery!

In other words, Nip Tuck demonstrates some pretty nifty writing with each episode.

I watch the show with my 19 year old son. He thinks it is a 'heavy, banging' show (his words!). I personally cannot get enough of the divine Messers Walsh and McMahon, who are very obviously more than pretty faces and buff bodies (they are great actors too). Joely Richardson also puts on a very credible performance as Walsh's (McNamara's) highly strung spouse.

I strongly recommended this box set to all my friends and co-workers. I also bought season one and I honestly cannot wait for season 3 to be released. A word of caution though - the sex scenes are pretty graphic so those who think they might want to purchase this series might want to bear that in mind.

Nip/Tuck Season 25
I really enjoyed Season 1, and couldn't wait to watch Season 2. I don't have Sky so bought the DVD as soon as it was released because it came out before screening started on Channel 4!

I watched the 5 DVD's in the space of as many days and was hooked.

Very watchable and can't wait to see what happens in Season 3.

Sheer Melodramatic Brilliance5
Nip/Tuck offers a magnificent insight into the lifes of two plastic surgeons Christian Troy (Julian McMahon) and Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh). By covering various issues with comedy, sex and excellent acting, Nip/Tuck connects with the audience in many ways. It is this quality that allows you to be gripped and watch on in tension as events unfold. Ultimately the surgeons are faced with personal and business dilemmas which allow for excellent viewing. Nip/ Tuck conveys the actions of the real world into a context that you can relate to, whilst amusing the audience. Great Creation. Great Series. Great nerve shredding ending. Pure Genius.
