2nd best adventure game ever!*
This is a great adventure game after a long time of junk in the genre.
Technically,it has some great graphics, very good voice overs for the protagonist & all the other "people" who appear & some excellent music. The gameplay is very nice.It has a first-person perpective, rotating a full 360 degrees with the mouse. There's good & easy to use "active" inventory that goes beyond just displaying your items.
The game is absolutely non-linear and anything you need to do can be done by more than one ways.I liked the point system witch encourages you to take the hard way instead of just go & buy stuff at the shop (yes, there's a shop where you can practically buy your way out).At a very early stage of the game I knew that this was a masterpiece and I was absolutely amazed by the overall quality of Journey to the moon. The puzzles cover a wide range of types and difficulties from inventory based to your riddles and from obvious to quite complex.
Enough talk.If you are an adventure player you should buy this title blindfolded.I guarantee you it's worth it (and it's not very expensive after all).Have a nice adventure & good luck coming back to earth!
Utterly charming
I bought this game on a friend's recommendation.
When I began playing - I found the scenario at the beginning predictable and typical of this sort of point and click game.
The story line was intriguing - but nothing special.
Once the story progresses to the moon - it really comes into it's own.
The puzzles are the kind I love - linguistic and numerical.
If you like the kind of game where you crack codes and puzzles - and work out relationships between objects - this is for you.
It is entirely logical and none of the puzzles are obscure and terribly difficult.
It depends on the kind of gamer you are - Don't expect action content. Just experiment and take note of your journal - it will fill with clues as you progress.
I was disappointed when I finished. I had a lot of fun with it.
Better than 'Mysterious Island', totally..............
Received my game yesterday (4 March '06) and have not stopped playing it since.
Graphics are excellent, lip-synch is brill considering all you hear after the first ten conversations (in the 'Shell') are on the 'Moon' and they are all musical.
What a fantastic and workable idea. Totally non-linear play...you learn by your mistakes (but you start from where you fell/lost a footing, etc. so save often in the 6-persons save bit) and experimenting is the key. (Plus IQ points. Me? 908).
Yes, you get IQ points throughout the game, but do not know what they are until a certain point. I will let YOU find out where the IQ rating comes in. And money, (Lunar coins) I got up to 1,054. Am sure, as is early days, someone will beat that!
My advice if you like point/click/pick up/listen/combine items and match, then this is for you. And look around often, up/down/left/right all the time, but especially when on the moon, amazing graphics.
Oh, and at the end....remember, 'Mysterious Island'...Captain Nemo......?
Is a MUST buy.
