Manufacturer's Description
Retaining the same award-winning gameplay, unique sense of humour and clever mix of action and strategy that has epitomized the brand for almost a decade, Worms is the ideal quality gaming experience whilst on the move and is perfectly placed to make its debut on the Sony PSP.
The processing power of the new handhelds means Worms contains the best of aspects of all previous Worms games whilst at the same time offering the best Worms AI and most balanced weapons system to date.
Plus with the introduction of a whole raft of unique features and laugh-out-loud comedy, Worms engages the player with streamlined gameplay especially suited to the smaller screen and shorter play time of a handheld device.
Heralding a return to the classic 2D turn based gameplay, the easy to play yet hard to master gameplay makes Worms on PSP a match made in heaven.

Colossal comeback!
People seemed to have lost interest in Worms, what with the series becoming a little too ambitious; evolving into '3D' games which went against what made it so appealing in the first place. Well now, in the form of 'Open Warfare', the old school brand of Worms has returned on PSP, and is every bit as good as you remember! The graphics have also been polished to perfection with beautifully animated backgrounds which are just the icing on the cake. And if you don't know anyone else who has a PSP, up to four of you can play it on one! Basically, if you've been a fan of Worms since it's debut on PS1 then you'll love this. The only criticism I have to make is that the developers didn't include the Holy Hand Grenade (there's no better way to pay homage to Monty Python!) and the Super Sheep, two of the best weapons ever! Why?! It doesn't matter that much though because everthing else is still there. Quality!
Worms - Still a great game if lacking some aspects
First of all this is a superb game, it's easy to learn and very addictive, easy to play with a friend as it's turn based and just involves passing your PSP to and fro. The challenges are quite good starting very easy and progressing, I am now on challenge 20 and have failed 10 times, so longevity does not seem an issue. You can customise team names as well as worm names. Any fan of worms will notice however the lack of a few features which made the original and worms 2 so great. Firstly there is no Pneumatic drill, only a blow torch, no parachute so you have to use ropes to fall any great distances and most dispointing of all was the lack of any surprise weapons such as the infamous Concrete Donkey or Vase of flowers etc. There is of course the Banana Bomb, but i am only giving the game 4 stars for the lack of the hilarious Old Lady! But all in all one of the best games on the PSP, addictive, playable and ideal for a hand held.
I Have Worms!! (open war fare)
Worms open war fare is a good game following on from the highly succesful worms collection.
good game play and lots of tasks to complete, however there are only 11 weapons to use, no super sheep, cow, granny, bundgee, holy bomb, and so on the only decent weapon is the bannana bomb and you have to wait 4 ages for a box to fall from the sky to even collect 1.
if you like the worms collection then you may like this game ... other wise dont bother!
