Customer Reviews
If you loved the movie, then enjoy the soundtrack as well
I saw Jamie Lee Curtis’s tour de force performance in “Freaky Friday” and then proceeded to pick up the soundtrack, even though the only cast members singing on this album are Lindsay Lohan and Chad Michael Murray. There are only two songs that are performed in the film, “Take Me Away” by Christina Vidal, which is song that the faux band Pink Slip plays in the movie, and “Ultimate,” which Lohan sings during the final credits. The soundtrack is a mix between edgy covers, such as Simple Plan’s “Happy Together,” Lillix’s “What I Like About You,” and Bowling for Soup’s “…Baby One More Time,” and contemporary songs by Forty Foot Echo, the Donnas, and Lash. Rolfe Kent, who did the music for the film, only gets the final track on the album, “Fortune Cookie?” I picked up the album for the covers, but the other songs are growing on me, although it is strange to listen to Halo Friendlies sing “Me Vs. The World” or Joey Ramone’s punk cover of “What a Wonderful World” and then realize this is the soundtrack to a Disney film.

Not My Normal Sound, But I Love It
When I went to see this movie in the theater, I loved every second of it. And part of the fun was the soundtrack. As I left the theater, I decided that I might have to bend my policy about buying soundtracks to get this. I thought about it for months, and finally picked it up today on my lunch hour. Am I ever glad I did!
The CD opens with Lindsay Lohan’s song from the closing credits, “Ultimate.” She has so much talent. Is there anything she can’t do? (Possible celebrity crush? Except for the age difference, you bet!) The CD continues with one fun upbeat song after another, from covers of “Happy Together” and “What a Wonderful World” to such songs as “Me Vs. the World,” “I Wonder,” and “…Baby One More Time.” I was especially happy to get “What I Like About You” since I’ve fallen in love with it on the sit-com of the same name.
I’ve been tapping along with the music all afternoon around my office. I can tell this is going to be a dangerous CD to have as I’ll probably catch myself singing some of these at inopportune moments in public. But it’s such fun it’s well worth the risk. I may not normally choose a CD like this, but it will be nice for a change of pace.
