Album Description
Ron Howard and Akiva Goldman, the Oscar(R)-winning director and writer of A Beautiful Mind, reunite to bring Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code, one of the most popular and controversial novels of our time, to the big screen with a cast headed by two-time Academy Award(R) winner Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, Jean Reno, Sir Ian McKellan, Paul Bettany and Alfred Molina.

The Da Vinci Code begins with a spectacular murder in the Louvre museum. All clues point to a covert religious organization that will stop at nothing to protect a secret that threatens to overturn 2,000 years of accepted dogma.

The Decca soundtrack features a stunning original score by Oscar(R)-winning composer Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, Hannibal, Black Hawk Down, The Lion King).

brilliant5
The music so beautiful underlies the subject matter of the film. Zimmer is a highly talented composer, right up there with the likes of John Barry. Like Barry, his score is not about the composer, but about the subject. Zimmer's score feels church-like and as rich and old as a tapestry - or the paintings of Da Vinci himself. Well worth buying whether you are into the idea of the film or not.

Magnificent, majestic and moving 5
I think Hans Zimmer's score for The Da Vinci Code is absolutely beautiful; sacred, mystical, uplifting music of the soul. My particular favourite is `Chevaliers de Sangreal', a piece I play over and over again for its magnificent strings and that soaring crescendo to the towering finale ~ a supreme piece of music. The whole score is dramatic and evocative of the power and mystery of the church down the ages. I loved the film and the book, and now through this wonderful CD I can relive both. Highly recommended for the sheer beauty of the choral works and the superb musical compositions.

Absolutely Beautiful !!!5
Hans Zimmer has excelled himself - yet again! I have listened to his compositions for many years, mainly his movie scores which are so varied and so many including the likes of Gladiator, King Arthur and Black Hawk Down. This has to be my favourite. It has that spiritual purity and Celestial Grace from the great choral work together with the beautiful violin solo from Track 5 "Quodis Arcana " and yet has all the drama and mystery you would expect from Hans Zimmer. I have not yet seen the film and I am half way through reading the book but the music is worth purchasing just for it's beauty.
Hans Zimmer stands side by side with that of John Williams, James Horner and Jerry Goldsmith as one of the greatest movie composers of our time.
