Wireless adaptor
This product is brilliant , and much cheaper than the Xbox360 wireless adaptor! The instuctions were easy to follow and worked first time on my Xbox360 and Playstation2.
Does not support WPA - Product description is incorrect
I recently purchased this device as I wanted to upgrade my home wireless network from WEP security (which is easily hacked these days) to WPA which is recommended.
All my wireless devices supported WPA apart from my old Linksys gaming adapter that I use on my Xbox360.
The product description for this device clearly states that it supports WPA and range extension etc. It doesn't give a model number for the device, but subsequent research has shown that the description on the Amazon site is for the Zoom 4400 Game Point adapater.
The device actually sent out however is the older Zoom 4420 Game Point adapter which doesn't support, WPA or range extension, or some of the other features advertised.
I've had a quick play with the device and it seems to work fine. If you didn't care about security (for example if using it to connect two Xboxes together in an ad-hoc 1-2-1 network) then I'm sure it's great. If however you wish to use the device as part of your home network, it would be foolish to do so. WEP security really is very weak.
I will contact Amazon to explain the mistake and get a refund. I'll try to get them to either send out the 4400 model, or to change the item description. Depending on how I get on I might amend this review accordingly.
Rubbish!
Well i'll keep this breif and get to the point:If you want a wireless adapter for your 360 then buy the official one because the best signal strength i could get from this one was fluctuating between 69% and 90% when the the adapter was only 6 feet away from the router and that wasn't good enough to use online as it really lagged!
And no there wasn't any other devices to corrupt the signal,i've tried all sorts of technical solutions but to no aid.trust me forget this its tosh!
