Synopsis
Catherine Tate, winner of the 2004 British Comedy Award for Best Comedy newcomer, returns for series two of her sketch show featuring an extraordinary gallery of comic characters. From 'Am I bovvered?' teenage nightmare Lauren to the seemingly pleasant 'Cockney Nan' who just happens to be a foul-mouthed racist, this brilliantly observed series takes characters from everyday life, parodied to the extreme, as this talented actress morphs through ages, accents and wigs.

Catherine Tate - absolute brilliance
What a superb sketch show series! I absolutely love sketch shows - I am a big fan of fellow and previous BBCers Little Britain, The Fast Show and Harry Enfield - and this one never, ever fails to make me double over with laughter! Whether it's the foul mouthed nan, the insolent teenager Lauren or the unbelievably over-excited couple (who laugh hysterically about just about anything), this show never fails to meet the mark.

I always find that her writing is witty, fresh and basically downright hilarious. I have been waiting for the second season for far too long after hammering the season 1 DVD to death! This is much, much better than the first series - if there's anyone who's unsure out there - with better and more rounded characters, even funnier lines and situations and a more developed comedy series overall. My advice? Buy it - I certainly will!

The best ever!
I agree with everything the previous review said. It is Catherine's best work ever.

My first series DVD is worn out and superhot as we watched it every night for a loooooong time. I have had the second series on pre-order for about a month now and I cannot wait, I keep checking back, hoping the release date has been moved forward!

Catherine should be president of her own country - she is just brilliant!

You should not even wonder whether you should buy it, just do it!

The best sketch show around
Forget Little Britain - this is the best sketch show around at the moment. Whereas Matt and Paul trot out the same old characters in the same old situations week in week out, Catherine Tate adds new characters to her show every week - my favourite being the drunken bride. But all the old favourites are here too. Lauren the teenager - definitely a superior creation to Vicky Pollard - is on top form, and when Nan Taylor meets Charlotte Church in the Christmas Special it's hysterical. Buy this DVD now and use those tired Little Britain disks as coasters.
