well worth watching
I ran into this series accidentally in BBC Prime but after seeing a half an episode I've already decided this is something well worth watching - and since then Ballykissangel became one of my favourite. The storyline revolves around a young English priest, Peter Clifford, who is posted to the tiny Irish village of Ballykissangel. Father Clifford is quickly forced to come to terms with idiosyncrasies of the various local characters of Ballykissangel.

Caveat Emptor
Potential buyers beware, the third series does not contain "The Waiting Game" which is apparently, according to the small print on the package, "[r]egrettably...not available on DVD". Needless to say, I feel like I basically wasted 50 pounds because I would not have purchased this package if I had known that an episode was unaccountably missing in action. Shame, yet again, on the BBC (it brings back bad memories of The Good Life, Absolutely Fabulous). With this boxed set I have learned once and for all to be wary of any package from the Beeb.

Finally, a brief word about the packaging. Series three has three discs packed one on top of another. This means that the discs may (as mine did on further inspection) arrive scratched and damaged, looking, in other words, like they are used discs.

Ballykissangel DVD Box Set
This dvd set runs from the very first episode to when Stephen Thomkinson leaves the series, which was what I wanted. A few postcards of Stephen Thompkinson would have been welcome (as in "The Corpse Bride" dvd.

I felt Amazon's delivery was excellent (2 days from ordering on line).
