Customer Reviews
Excellent on the whole.
I really liked this game. The graphics are a bit dated by now but can definitely do the job.
The ability throughout the game to go from 3rd person, first person and scope may make some either wonder why bother, overdone, overwhelming or too complex. In reality you will be wondering why all shooters don't do this as it probably one of the strongest points of the game once you have used it. The IA of both your blokes and the enemies is reasonable compared to older, similar games but not what you would expect now days. You may want to stay on top of what you want your team to do as they can sometimes seem a bit thick compared to the way you are intelligently peeking round corners and making sure you are not killing civilians all over the place.
The selection of weapons is good. The fact that weapons and items have weight means that affects your movement. It is a great idea.
The game has enough reality. Enemies can be hard to see, guns have recoil and you are not a perfect shot (especially while moving), etc. Going in all guns blazing is not the way to go as both health and ammo are limited.
The controls are OK but always felt that it could be better. There are different options but the default is the best for most people I would think. I would have liked to be able to set every button myself, that would have improved the game for me quite a bit.
The online and LAN parts of the game are easy to use and excellent. The missions as single player are well thought out with a good story although a lot of the characters are quite stereotypical but that is just amusing. There are enough missions to keep you busy for a while and they are hard enough to keep your interest once you turn up the difficulty. The game is strangely addictive for many reasons. The head set gives an interesting and new dimension to single player missions and is an absolute must online to get the most out of the game.
The game as a whole is extremely good and must be one of the best shooters of its type about.
Combined Assault
I have never played any of the Navy Seals games before and so I can not compare it to any of the others. However as somebody who enjoys shooting and blowing the general bejesus out of stuff it is awesome. Snipe at enemies from long distance or get in their and beat them or stab them. The team controls are easy and once you have the hang of it it is fine. It is challenging and does not get boring. Buy it and you will not be disappointed.
