Product Description

Sega Rally will encourage players to put the pedal to the metal and enjoy thrilling head-to-head racing. Skilled driving will go hand-in-hand with pure luck as you hurtle around looping tracks in a wide selection of 4WD, 2WD & Classic vehicles that react quite differently depending upon the racing surface. Sega Rally offers a vast variety of fully deformable environments and surfaces, from littered gravel tracks, all weather tarmac roads, to snow driven trails - no two laps will never be the same.

Players rallying skills will be tested to the limit as aside from the sleek motors on offer, Sega Rally also offers players an advanced AI that takes into account the racing surface to adapt their driving style to suit. Single player and multiplayer split screen, along with online capabilities will offer race fans an unbelievably competitive and first class driving experience.

Enjoy it for what it is4
This was designed from the start to be an arcade style game and not a simulation. The graphics are astounding and there's a good sense of speed, you'll need your wits about you. Successfully sliding round a 90 degree bend or U turn brings a great sense of satisfaction. As has been said before, there's no real damage; you are penalized for collisions by loss of speed and/or being spun in the wrong direction. From a fun point of view, this is great. If it were realistic, I'd be writing my car off in the first few seconds and constantly re-starting. For me, it would get the 5th star if the tracks were a bit longer, but given the level of detail (we're talking individual flowers here) I can appreciate the huge amount of artwork that must be required.

Arcade Rallying4
Don't buy this expecting to be able to choose tyre-tread patterns or the height of your suspension - this is an arcade title, was always intended to be, and anyone expecting otherwise hasn't done their homework. Criticising this title for these reasons is basically just not valid.

This is more akin to Wipeout with mud, wheels and no weapons - you try to go as fast as hell as often as possible, and simply for that I love it. It's moderately and surprisingly difficult in places, even from the outset, but it's also pick-up and play stuff, so there's no need to get too stressed-out by it. You also don't need a monster PC to play it; I have a Core2Duo, 2GB RAM, and a 7900GTX - and I can set every detail to maximum without any slowdown.

If you like relatively simple racers with a bit of graphical flair, this is worth a look - but don't expect an engineering extension course like Colin McRae's DiRT or Richard Burns Rally.

fun to play if you can get it going!4
when i came to install this game i expected no problems after all my pc is well within spec to run after installing i found the games launcher where graphics/controls are set kept crashing (windows has encountered an error etc) after trawling the internet i found many people with the same problem. For me the fix was too install direct x from the sega rally disc even though i already had the latest direct x installed on my pc. So after a day of using sega's name in vane i got it going i also read on the net that steering wheels were not supported but my 30 quid usb wheel does the trick just fine.
Once i got it going i loved it its a real arcade blast from the past if you want serious physics etc look elsewhere if you want to feel like your playing in an arcade then this is the game for you!
