Customer Reviews
Good picture, but mic pathetic
I recently bought this webcam. Set-up etc. reasonably straightforward, though lead is a bit too short to allow me to connect to the mic jackplug on the pc (on the floor by the side of my desk) and place the camera on top of the monitor. But as it happens this doesn't matter, as although the picture quality is pretty good, the mic is virtually useless and I have had to resort to a seperate mic. If I hadn't owned one, I would have returned the webcam. There is also quite a delay in the synchronisation of speech and lip movement ...though I think this may be a common problem with webcams in general. I'm sure there are better all round webcams for the price. I wouldn't recommend this one unless you just want decent visuals and sound is unimportant.
Great value
I had a Trust webcam for 7 odd years so decided to get a new one to go with Windows Vista. I only use a webcam for conversations on MSN messenger, so I wasn't looking for anything fancy. Just something that gives a clear picture and is easy to set up. This was all of those things. So if like me you just want something basic that gives a good quality picture then this webcam will suit your needs.
Great value - perfect for Window Messenger
After having had much more sophisticated and expensive Logitec and Philips webcams on previous PCs, I needed a new webcam to go with Vista. That limited my choice immediately and it was down to this one and one other - this one won on price initially and the fact that I only need it to use with MSN Messenger. This is perfect for that - it is easy to set-up, very clear picture and the sound is okay (not brilliant quality but it wasn't with the more expensive cameras). The only slight hiccup is that the cable it quite short and so it's not quite where I want to position the camera. But picture quality is great for chatting and some of the fun effects you can use on your picture make for good entertainment for children. I had a problem with getting sound but this is to do vista not the webcam - you need to start an audio call first and then start the camera, not start a video call. Would definately (and have) recommend this for a lower priced chatting webcam.
