Characters
Turok
Once a troubled soldier with a quick temper, Joseph Turok was recruited and trained by Roland Kane to become a member of his black ops squad, Wolf Pack. Haunted by a devastating incident, Turok deserted Wolf Pack and was dishonorably discharged from the military. Now, years later, he joins Whiskey Company on a mission to locate and capture Kane. As he struggles to survive the harsh, alien planet, Turok must confront his demons and face the man who helped create him.
Cowboy
Easy-going and level headed, Cowboy is the most dependable member of Whiskey Company.
Slade
A member of Whiskey Company, Slade is a tough-as-nails jarhead with a cruel temper. His brother was a member of Turok's former unit, Wolf Pack, and occurrences from the past have led Slade to despise Tuork.
Logan
After surviving the crash, his teammates fear that he is becoming highly unstable. Brave and aggresive by nature, Logan is eager for a leadership role within Whiskey Company.
Reese
Quiet, even-tempered and a loner by nature, Reese is Whiskey Company's sniper. Slender and agile with a deadly accurate shot from almost any range, Reese is a cornerstone of the team.
Weapons
ORO P23 Combat Knife
The razor sharp carbon plated combat knife allows Turok to move quickly and silently, eliminating opponents with a single quiet kill when he approaches them without being spotted. Expert users may even be able to attack from the front
ORO C9 Perforator Compound Bow
Turok's trademark bow that has the ability to strike opponents from great distance without making any sound. When at full tension, it's powerful enough to pin any enemy to a wall. Turok can attack without being seen when using the bow.
ORO HOG 9mm Handgun
This pistol is accurate and powerful at close range and comes equipped with a secondary burst fire mode. It can be Dual Wielded.
ORO FP9 SMG
A standard automatic rifle that can be equipped with optional silencer for quiet kill capability. Like the HOG, it can be Dual Wielded.
ORO Enforcer Shotgun
The Enforcer provides excellent stopping power with a wide blast radius. Its secondary fire is a flare launcher that can be used to lure dinosaurs to attack enemies. It can be Dual Wielded.

Turok is an epic!
Turok is an epic, story-driven first person shooter set on a dark, mysterious planet in the future. The single-player is fairly long compared to other shooters from this genre Characters and dinosaurs have enough polygons to make your jaw drop, Music and sounds fit perfectly (The sound of the T-Rex is simply awesome).
This game is unique, how many games can you use a bow and arrow to pin your enemies to the wall? Make combos using your left mouse button to dispatch your enemys, this makes it different each time you play.
One of the jumpy things about this game are the dinosaurs, sometimes they will come from nowhere (so they might scare you...just a little). Besides that, this is an great game and definitely worthy of being played.
I highly recommend this game even if you are not a fan of the Turok series.
BOUND FOR EXTINCTION
What is truly amazing with this game is how trivial it looks and how fast it generates a feeling of "been there - done that". Yes, even if someone is new to the TUROK series - and I am not: I came with high expectations.
Graphically the game is beautiful yet not very original - and I for one did not appreciate the ever present darkness...The designers probably aimed for atmospheric terror but they obviously overshot their mark. Apples and oranges, but Hitchcock always had his terrors well lit - and that made them unforgettable. There are quite a few cheap shots in this area.
The dinosaurs are, well, ...JurassicPark-realistic (honestly, seen any real-life dinosaur lately?), whereas their growls and high-pitched pack-hunting sounds will keep raising the hairs in the back of your head no matter how many times encountered.
The occasional sidekick's AI is neither brilliant nor disastrous. At least it is not a burden (remember DAIKATANA anyone?). I liked the weapons, both the realistic and the futuristic ones. The gameplay is pretty straightforward but I would have liked more freedom in remapping the control keys (certain choices are not possible).
What I particularly did NOT like was the insertion of a (video) TP perspective whenever climbing stairs, opening doors or killing with the Kabar knife. I came across this peculiar approach in another game as well, TURNING POINT, in which it also outright ruined any immersion attempt.
If I could I would rate it at 2&1/2 stars but decided to be generous (the little boy in me is still fascinated by dinosaurs) and rounded it up. The games makes par but is probably currently overpriced.
My advice: wait for its fossil to hit the sale bins.
It feels and looks like a game made 4 years ago
I have a high end spec computer and had just played Bioshock (for the 2nd time) when I bought this. In comparison, the graphics are terrible and have the look of a game made several years ago. The skin tones, scenery and dinosaurs have the same poor/basic graphic quality you would get from a Playstation 2 and not the higher quality you would expect from an up to date PC game. Crysis and Bioshocks graphics blow this game away and as some have already suggested, have a little patience and then pick it up for a bargain price. You shouldn't have to wait too long.
