XPC 500
The latest product is the Xpc500. Designed by the same team behind the very highly regarded Uvem media server; it is a true crossover product that allows all the benefits of using pc technology but in a truly domestically acceptable form. Its compact size, modern styling and remote control operation leads you to almost forget it is a computer. Using Windows Vista™ operating system enables the user to access all the following benefits using the supplied remote control and a clear and simple menu interface:
- Play, store and burn both CDs and DVDs
- Supports all types of music and video formats
- Integral memory card reader for easy transfer of phone or camera content
- Watch and record Freeview television via the twin Freeview tuner
- Access a growing number of remote control friendly online services
In addition the Xpc500 has the benefit of full pc features including web browsing, email etc. iTunes and an iPod dock are also included. The future of home entertainment is driven more and more by broadband internet delivery and we are reminded at the end of a growing number of television programmes to visit the appropriate website for more information or to download the next episode. We will soon see the launch of the BBC i-Player service, allowing the public to catch up with all programmes from across the complete BBC channel line up and Sky already has a download service for sports highlights and complete movies.
