Weapons and Combat
Keeping with the games' user friendly approach, the control scheme has been designed with Jedi character's lightsaber and force powers, as well as clone characters firing trigger accessible from a single input source. Because of the difference in the character classes weapons, combat differs depending on the class chosen. Due to their reliance on the their lightsabers, Jedi will mostly engage enemies at close range, although force power attacks can allow for more distance from targets. In addition, utilizing Jedi powers at point blank range players are able to engage in "droidjacking," which allows a Jedi to take control of a droid's weapons system and other abilities. On the other hand, clone character combat relies more on firepower, utilizing a variety of blaster type weapons and thermal grenades, although clones are able to acquire heavier weapons, such as miniguns and rocket launchers as the game progresses. Because of the projectile nature of these weapons clone character combat can be fought as a variety of distances.

Customer Reviews

Very good star wars game but not a serious one.4
This game takes place between the star wars clone wars series 1 and 2 (you don't need to have watched the to enjoy the game) and features characters such as obi-wan, anakin, rex, cody and many more jedi and clones. Good graphics and finally some decent lightsabre damage. The game can be played solo or in co-op and live is a nice bonus. Upgrades are interesting and there is a little replay value (the game can be finished in a few hours on solo). However, its not a third person sooter, it plays more like lego starwars in that you shoot in the direction you're facing or moving rather than using a firing recticle. Very good gameplay and some very good cut scenes. At such a low price an excellent buy but might not be as interesting for the serious gamer who wants something like battlefront or the force unleashed.

A bit of a letdown3
I was a little disappointed with this. Usually lucasarts stuff is brilliant and this is basically a rehashed lego star wars in the style of the tv show, but it's not as funny or endearing. it's also quite slow on my computer as i'm barely past the system requirements. it's quite long which is good and i always like getting windows live achievements. it is fun, but it just gets a bit dull, and i'm not enthralled by the story. perhaps better for children who watch the show and will lap up anything with their favourite characters in.

the fighting is quite good - the lightsaber moves are acrobatic and you can 'jak' droids and make them 'dance' (quite random!), kill them with the force, or make them attack one another. the clones have several different weapons, and flipping between the different kinds of combat is quite fun. there is no real learning curve - if you've played the lego star wars franchise it'll be easy to pick up. there's little things to find along the way and cheats you can buy, along with combat upgrades and other characters heads to 'wear'. disappointingly you never really choose who you play as but that's not a huge problem.
there are some pretty stunning landscapes, including one mission where luminara and aayla are jumping on floating platforms in an ice world, trying to find the middle of a huge, destroyed ship.
at this price you may as well give it a try but be warned that it may disappoint.
