	Blade Runner-The Director's Cut [1982] [VHS] Buy used from: £0.01 A thoughtful screen adaption of an incredible book. Make sure you buy the directors version. Forget the matrix. This is sci fi at its best.
	Eureka [DVD] [2001] Buy new: £7.47 / Used from: £6.50 Every shot looks like it belongs in a gallery. Superb acting. Amazing photography. Almost genreless in style but brilliant.
	The Horseman On The Roof [VHS] [1996] Buy used from: £1.49 Serene period action-adventure story. A swashbuckling cavalier affair with lots of heart and style. You won't want it to end.
	Casablanca [VHS] [1942] Buy used from: £0.01 famously misquoted. A film for staying in. Makes you want to move abroad and start up your own jazz club. What I'd do to be the leading role. buy it now!
	Mean Streets [VHS] [1973] Buy used from: £0.01 Everyone says De Niro is the greatest actor of our time. its an easy cliche. Here he is though, in an early role showing why he deserves recommendation. Now a standard typecast, he was unbelievable.
	The Big Sleep [VHS] [1946] Buy used from: £0.01 Fil noir at its best. The first film to start the embers of a burning relationship between bogart and bacall. Adapted from a confusing chandler novel, this one may need a high level of concentration.
	My Life As A Dog [VHS] [1985] Buy used from: £3.74 the first ever subtitled film I watched. The start of a long relationship with foreign film. This film is simply great. Enough said.
	Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid [VHS] [1969] Buy used from: £0.08 quite an obvious choice. Has to be in there though. It was either this or 'The Sting'. Great dynamics between the two leads. One of the best of the genre. Watch it and you'll want to be Sundance.
	Rear Window [VHS] [1954] Buy used from: £2.39 Couldn't really have a film list without hitchcock. My favourite of his along with 'North by Northwest'. James Stewart is captivating. Grace Kelly is stunning. Two movie greats in one film.
	Bringing Up Baby [VHS] [1938] Buy used from: £0.01 Great fun. Grant is a legend. Good choice for a lazy sunday afternoon.
	Easy Rider [VHS] [1969] Buy used from: £0.01 Set a whole genre of film making. People were shining the camera into the sun after this was made. Broke a lot of conventional barriers at the time. Still riveting, even today.
	The Lord of the Rings (animated version) [VHS] [1978] Buy used from: £0.01 This was my film to watch when i was feeling under the weather. Still a hell of a lot better than the films in my opinion and genuinely scary in parts. Blantently made by hippies though. Still great
