	Stephen King's The Stand [DVD] [1994] Buy used from: £4.96 The film of the book - very long and a very good adaptation. Watch for Stephen King's cameo role.
	The Death of Grass (Sphere popular classics) by John Christopher Buy used from: £24.94 Anything by John Christopher - he wrote a prolific number of post-apocalypse books most of which are now out of print
	Survivors - Series 1 - Complete [DVD] [1975] Buy used from: £24.00 Terry Nation's brilliant series set in England following a devastating plague. A sort of English version of 'The Stand'.
	Survivors - Series 2 - Complete [DVD] Buy used from: £18.50 The second series, after Terry Nation left, went in a different direction but was still thought provoking.
	Survivors - Series 3 - Complete [DVD] by Survivors Buy used from: £23.00 The third and final series (although there is talk of a remake following the recent success of Dr Who). By the 3rd series, the story has diverted a long way from Terry Nation's original vision.
	28 Days Later ... [DVD] [2002] Buy new: £4.28 / Used from: £0.24 What a great film - fusion of classic Romeros and classic British post apocalypse. The scenes of London at the start are superb - and the opening strongly references Day of the Triffids.
	Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood Buy used from: £1.14 A grown up and respectable sci fi book!
	Night Of The Living Dead - Special Collector's Edition [DVD] [1968] Buy used from: £4.99 The original and classic George Romeros film that initiated the timeless trilogy (including Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead)
	Quatermass : The Complete TV Series (3 Disc Box Set) [1979] [DVD] Buy used from: £29.99 Quatermass - classic stuff. The effects are a little dated now, but they still work. A brilliant picture of a future UK society which is still recognisably ours, yet deteriorating very realistically.
	The Changes: A Trilogy by Peter Dickinson Buy new: £11.60 / Used from: £8.66 The Changes - a childrens trilogy set in an England in which the population have suddenly risen up against modern machines and smashed them all to pieces - a very gentle post-apocalypse
	Day of the Triffids by John Wyndam An absolute classic - if you haven't read it you must do so at once!
	The Day Of The Triffids [DVD] [1981] Buy new: £4.88 / Used from: £3.92 FINALLY the superb BBC adaptation of this classic has come to DVD
	Resident Evil [DVD] [2002] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £0.87 Suprisingly good - many references to George Romeros again, and even Day of the Triffids. Throw in some Alien, and it seems to work.
	Dawn of the Dead [DVD] [2004] Buy new: £3.98 / Used from: £0.37 Not a bad remake of the classic George Romero zombie flick. Fast zombies are much scarier!!
	The Drowned World by J.G. Ballard Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £2.98 Anything by J.G. Ballad - his works are classics.
	I Am Legend (S.F. Masterworks) by Richard Matheson Buy new: £4.49 / Used from: £0.37 One of the best scifi/horror books. It is delicious in its exploration of loneliness, and in questioning our idea of what can be defined as abnormal when the world has been turned upside down.
	The Quiet Earth [DVD] [1984] Buy used from: £3.99 Classic sci fi, in which a man wakes up to find he is alone on Earth. His descent into madness is thought provoking. The scene when, armed with a shotgun, he tries to confront God in church is superb.
