	The Shawshank Redemption [DVD] [1995] Buy new: £4.28 / Used from: £1.74 Great life-affirming story without the cheese, stays pretty true to the book
	Life Is Beautiful [DVD] [1999] Buy new: £2.98 / Used from: £1.78 One of my favourites - not as grim as you'd think with some beautiful moments
	The Pianist (2 Disc Special Edition) [DVD] [2003] Buy used from: £3.30 Excellent film, which stays very true to the actual biography of Wladyslaw Szpilman
	American Beauty [DVD] [2000] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £1.88 Very dark but so watchable
	The Talented Mr Ripley [DVD] [2000] Buy used from: £4.49 Clever, psychological thriller with some great acting - actually more mesmerising than the book
	Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2 Disc Special Edition) [DVD] [2005] Buy new: £4.68 / Used from: £2.70 I love this - perfect for when you need a bit of clever comedy - along with brilliant animation
	The Simpsons Movie [DVD] [2007] Buy new: £4.88 / Used from: £0.99 This got mixed reviews but I loved it - and the fact that Spiderpig has hair!
	Lemony Snicket's: A Series Of Unfortunate Events[DVD] [2004] Buy new: £4.97 / Used from: £0.95 Was a bit sceptical about this before I saw it but was pleasantly surprised - and child actors who don't irritate the hell out of me - quite unusual - also a welcome change from the Harry Potter lot
	One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (2 Disc Special Edition) [1975] [DVD] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £3.39 Another one of my favourites which stays pretty true to the book as well
	Ocean's Eleven [DVD] [2002] Buy new: £4.98 / Used from: £0.01 One I had to stick on this list - a nice bit of hokum with some good performances
	David Attenborough's Life Of Birds [DVD] [1998] Buy new: £8.88 Ending on a high.. I love birds & everything about them - Attenbrough provides a very interesting look into their lives with some amazing pieces of film
