An omnibus edition of the first three titles in Janie Bolitho's popular Cornish mystery series featuring artist and amateur sleuth Rose Trevelyan. Snapped in Cornwall: Rose Trevelyan had only met Gabrielle Milton once, but felt they might become good friends. She was delighted, therefore, to receive an invitation to the Milton's party where the wine flowed freely and a good time was being had by all - that is, until Gabrielle's crumpled, lifeless body was found underneath a balcony. Framed in Cornwall: Dorothy Pengelly lived alone in her remote, dilapidated cottage with only her pets as company. When her old friend, Rose Trevelyan calls round to visit and finds Dorothy dead she is devastated. And when Rose learns that it wasn't a heart attack but a case of suicide her suspicions are immediately roused. Dorothy would never have killed herself - but would anyone have the motive to murder her? Buried in Cornwall: Rose's peaceful life is shattered when she finds herself at the centre of two murder enquiries. Moreover, Rose herself falls under suspicion.

Editorial Reviews
Review
"The reader is fortunate to have these three novels in a single package, since the connecting thread is a fascinating one -- Rose's complex personality, her rocky relationship with men, and her clever resolution of the murders she encounters. If there's a flaw in this series of narratives it's the occasionally inadequate explanation of just how Rose arrives at these solutions. . . .Readers . . . will find a marvelous depiction of Cornish life, with a delightful protagonist and satisfying plots." This is not Miss Marple !!
I REALLY wanted to like this book. It's set in Cornwall (I love cornwall) and the main character is an artist (so am I), the blurb suggests that the style is quite Miss Marple (I quite enjoy a Marple mystery) but no, no, no... It's so drawn out and if I am honest dull as ditch water. By page 90 someone has 'fallen' off a balcony and thats it!! I'm so sorry Janie Bolitho but I'm not sure I have the will power to read the next 77 in order to finish the book.
good books
Really enjoyed reading these while on recent holiday in Cornwall. They conjure up the atmosphere beautifully, although the writing can be a bit confusing from the detective story point of view.
Whichever journalist says it's like Miss Marple hans't read any Miss Marple lately....Rose Trevelyan is a widowed artist in her late forties, with various boyfriends, as opposed to Miss Marple who is an eccentric spinster in her seventies with no boyfriends as far as I can remember!
