The only one you need
If you only buy one guide book for your trip to the Scillies, then this is the one you'll want. Packed with information about the history and geography of the islands, how to get around, what to see, what walks to take, etc., this book is the best guide out there. Also, the fold-out map in the back is more detailed, less cluttered, and easier to use, in my opinion, than the OS map of the islands. The only thing I found lacking is a complete listing of all accomodations.

Informative but slightly outdated
My first thought when the tiny book appeared at my door was "is this it?". However even a cursory glance proved that the guide is packed with useful and interesting information for a first time visitor. Each populated island recieves a comment designed to guide the tourist not only to the "famous bits", but also to some more unusual sites of interest. Some of the photos look a bit old fashioned now but the details remain generally accurate. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a nod in the right direction.
