David has the knack of being able to write just the appropriate amount on each of his topics and to do so in an accurate and succinct manner. If he says a pub is 'old', it's old -- if he says a restaurant is 'expensive', then it will cost a lot to eat there! This guide-book seems a little different from others. It's refreshingly honest, for a start, and seems very well researched . It gives a lot of detail on the region, and also historical background for those who want it. Very useful.
