Product Description

Publishing phenomenon Marian Keyes is back again with her new novel Anybody Out There?, a touching and funny account of Anna Walsh and her journey from her parents' "Good Front Room" to the resumption of her life in New York where she was living with her gorgeous husband Aidan and had "The Best Job In The World". However, back in Manhattan Aidan seems to have vanished, but Anna seems him everywhere - walking down the street and passing by in a bus - so why won't he return her calls?

Anybody Out There? tells the story of Dubliner Anna, the fourth of five Walsh sisters, the family readers have come to know and love in Watermelon, Rachel's Holiday and Angels. We are also introduced to the life of the other Walsh sister Helen, who's job as a private investigator sees her hiding in bushes and getting caught up in the Dublin criminal underworld - with hilarious consequences!

Marian Keyes outsold all British or Irish authors last year, a testament to the popularity of her writing style. Marian's new novel Anybody Out There? is part-suspense novel, part-comedy and part-tragedy, but fully enthralling!

Synopsis
'I had to go back to New York and try to find him. There was a chance he mightn't be there but I had to give it a go because there was one thing I was certain of: he wasn't here.' Anna Walsh is officially a wreck. Physically broken and emotionally shattered, she lies on her parents' Dublin sofa with only one thing on her mind: getting back to New York. New York means her best friends, The Most Fabulous Job In The World and above all, it means her husband, Aidan. But nothing in Anna's life is that simple anymore! Not only is her return to Manhattan complicated by her physical and emotional scars - but Aidan seems to have vanished. Is it time for Anna to move on? Is it even possible for her to move on? A motley group of misfits, an earth-shattering revelation, two births and one very weird wedding might help Anna find some answers - and will change her life forever. Hilarious, heartbreaking and life-affirming, Marian's unforgettable new novel is as epic as it is entertaining.

From the Inside Flap
Dubliner Anna is the fourth of five Walsh sisters who seems to have it all - gorgeous husband Aidan, an apartment in Manhattan and The Best Job In The World. So it's not surprising she doesn't want to stay for long in her parents' Good Front Room in Blackrock, where there's nothing to do but watch the antics of her sister Helen who spends most of her time hiding in bushes with binoculars trying to catch errant spouses 'at it'.

Anna doesn't wait too long before heading back to her life in New York - her ridiculous mandatory work wardrobe and gut-clenching Monday Morning Meetings, the city of eight minute speeding dating, the Labradoodle and Feathery Strokers.

Back in Manhattan Anna sees Aidan everywhere - walking down the street and passing by in a bus - so why won't he return her calls or emails?

Meanwhile, Helen's professional life becomes weirder than fiction when she gets entangled in the Dublin criminal underworld and is charged with spying on Mrs Big and Racey O'Grady. And who is the old lady encouraging her dog to do 'his business' outside the Walsh house? And how far is Mammy Walsh willing to go to put a stop to it?

One thing's for sure, when the Walsh women get together there's no telling how things will turn out…

Hold onto your handbags for the new Marian Keyes!

Customer Reviews

Horrid!!!!!! 1
The reviews of this book were stating things like funny can't put it down blah blah. What a load of ROT! I do not think reading over 200 pages to find out that the guy is dead and she has been ringing his cell phone and emailing him the height of Chick lit and funny!!!!!!!!!! There was absolutely no indication that this book was as depressing as it was from the reviews on the back. As someone who has lost someone very special to them this was NOT the book I wanted to read as light funny entertainment!!! I wouldn't even rate this book as I think it is misleading and throwing a million swear words does not make funny reading! I will not even bother finishing this book either after reading the reviews I have now read. This two was my second attempt to read a Marian Keyes and I will not bother again. I look forward to Fiona Neill bring out a new book or Sophie Kinsella now there are two authors who can entertain!

Absolutely Brillant5
This Is the first Marian Keyes book I have read. Picked it up at the airport as I left on holiday. What a truly fabulous find, I was totally gripped by the end of the first chapter. What had happened to Anna? Where was Aiden? Could'nt put it down, found myself laughing and crying out loud, much to amusement of my family! Introduce yourself to Marian Keyes and buy this book.

Another great book4
I found this book really hard to put down even though it wasn't as funny as the other Walsh sister stories. I just wish I knew a family like them. They are hilarious! It's obviously a much sadder story and I really felt upset at several times because it all seemed so unfair! But there were a lot of funny parts too and I loved when Anna reminisced about Aiden and her together. I'm sure in time there will be a 'Helen' story so hopefully we'll find out then if she met anyone else.
