Synopsis
Sue Lawrence has gathered together more than 100 recipes to celebrate the down-to-earth ingredients, straightforward cooking and warmth of all things Scottish. In ten themed chapters, such as "A Bonfire on the Beach", and "A Lochside Picnic", Sue Lawrence introduces her much-loved food and country's landscape to cooks well beyond the Scottish shores. From breakfast to tea, and Burns' Night to Hogmanay, "Sue Lawrence's Scottish Kitchen" boasts a plethora of rustic yet stylish dishes. Illustrated with photographs of the country itself - from the lochs of the Highlands, to the fishmongers of Edinburgh - as well as food photography, this book is a trove of recipes that emphasizes all that is good about Scottish cooking.

Customer Reviews
Sue Lawrence satisfies again!
Sue Lawrence has written another splendid book of recipes in the Scottish tradition, but with an up to date slant.
I love the book - she writes as if she is talking to you, and is very amusing, illustrating her explanations of the origins of the food with personal stories. As a Scot myself, I can say that it is all absolutely kosher, if I can use that word in relation to things Scottish. Reading it made me nostalgic for Scottish food, and I can't wait to try out the recipes now. Very nicely illustrated with ravishing pictures of Scotland, and the ravishing food she describes.
A real gem.
Traditional with a twist
The recipes are easy to follow and most have an interesting introduction and great pictures.....the ingredients required for the recipes are widely available yet the end results are amazing!
The combination of traditional recipes with modern ingredients offers up some wonderful treats, the venison bridies are delicious and very much like the real thing. The roasted garlic and lentil soup is a winner, very warming and comforting for those long winter nights.....
A must for any dinner party or special occasion, guaranteed to wow your guests!
