Buyer Beware!!!3
A great book but do not buy if you already own Ainsleys Big Cook Out or Ainsleys BBQ Bible, as the recipes are all repeated with a few added extras.
That said, the recipes themsleves are great - as is the photography and I would recommend you buy this book rather than any of the other BBQ books he has released.

Outstanding5
I had not read anything by Ainsley prior to this and neither watch TV cookery shows! But I do own a number of 'comprehensive' books from the USA about BBQs.

None is as easy to read or filled with such good ideas for marinades, sauces, salads etc.

I am not easily impressed but this book has impressed me and some of my neighbours in Spain who have asked me to buy them a copy!

Too fussy recipes not enough BBQ1
I wanted a book to explain the basics of barbequing which this book does very briefly in the opening pages but not, in my opinion, enough depth.

The rest of the book is filled with what I consider to be recipes that are for the 'kitchen' and badly adapted to barbequing. I think they are too fancy for the average barbequer.

I don't even think that some recipes such as Peppys Jamacan Rice and Peas have even been adapted for the barbeque and it would be a lot easier to cook indoors.

If you want a cook book with such recipes as blueberry shortcake, danish pastries, blue cheese and walnut salad then go for it.

I think the best use for this book is rip out the pages and use them as firelighters.
