    Gelert 5 man Twister Tent4
This tent was great. It was amazingly quick to put up ... literally 5 minutes (1 person). To put down took a little longer, but nothing like any other tents I've used. You would think that as a 'pop up' tent it would be flimsy, but my family of slept in this over the Easter hols with hail stones and snow! We and the tent survived and were totally dry. My only criticism is that the ground sheet could be a little thicker ... we put a thick blanket on top of it.

Gelert 5 man Twister Tent - not for the frail4
My review of the Twister 5.

The Tent itself is bound incredibly tightly into a circular bag, which itself is pretty heavy and comes with a thin shoulder strap, this will certainly dig into the shoulder of anyone carrying it over a distance and is rather heavy.

Unpacking the Tent - If you can imagine those long poles are wrapped over themselves several times and are bound tightly into a coil, you have to prise the end of the poles out of the bag, initially i admit i didn't know what i was doing but I struggled to prise them out of the bag and eventually succeeded, but beware! Those poles are coiled incredibly tightly and will "pop" out of the bag with force, don't get your face or delicate body parts near it!

Once it was out of the bag, i managed to fully erect the tent in under two minutes, including clipping the poles to the inner tent layer, which is pretty good going. Very easy indeed.

I pulled the flysheet over the tent and it easily clipped into each corner of the tent and had very bright guide ropes to help with securing, again very good.

Inside the tent, huge is all i can say, there is an insane amount of floor space as well as having a high "ceiling", I'm 6' 2" and i was able to fully stand up without dipping, a rare but very welcome occurrence. Top marks

ventilation, two doors and two windows allowed for constant airflow keeping the inside cool, I kept the door at the back shut with a padlock, but was still able to open in inner layer and allow the breeze through.

The groundsheet felt very thin, I would recommend bring maybe a blanket, I did as I was so worried that i would put a hole in it accidentally.

Packing away. A lot easier, now you know what your doing, it's a matter of keeping the poles parallel and then inserting one end into a bag and then rolling them into the bag, re-coiling them if you will. It still wasn't an easy job with my roomie helping me.

I give this tent 4/5 stars, as the unpacking and repacking is not easy and in some cases i think would be almost impossible for certain people. But it excels everywhere else and I think i'll get lots of use out of this tent for years to come.

    very clever tent 4
This tent is great and I am surprised there are not a lot more tents like it around on the market. It only takes a couple of minutes to get it up. Its a strong tent, not much different than a normal tent but just has super bendy poles pre threaded. Its very generous inside and full height. Ideal for 2 adults and 2 small children. I think 5 adults would be a bit cramped.
I think the groundsheet seems a little thin compared to the tents I have had in the past although it seems to do the job. For comforts sake Its nice to put something over it.

Putting it down however is a job for the extremely strong only. There is no way that anyone with any physical impairments or anyone feeling a bit weak could do it. It needed a strong guy to be able to provide the force needed to get the tent back in its bag. I tried for about half an hour and I am a pretty strong woman but just couldn't apply the necessary force. Having said that though if you have a strong pair of hands available it is still easier than a normal tent as there is no faffing about taking out tent poles.

There is a little space between the flysheet and inner for wet boots if you needed it but we have bought a vango porch to use with this tent which does work and gives us a little more space for muddy stuff.

I only give this tent 4 stars because of how hard putting the tent down is.

    update to my review:
I have used the tent several more times and still love it. Still using it with a vango porch which works well though you have to pitch the porch perfectly square for it not to slide off. we also tie the vango porch guy ropes to the hooks on the side of the tent. The space in the porch of the twister is pretty big too, bigger than we expected. We use one door for access and keep the other porch closed for storage. We also really like the grey panel in the roof which means you get much better light inside the tent at all times rather than heavily coloured light which you end up with with brightly coloured flysheets.

one other reviewer has commented on bulkiness, they have obviously never owned big tents before. This tent easily fits in our car boot with all the other stuff we need. Probably only a problem if you have a very small car. its very thin when packed. Its also really light in comparison with other tents which we have had of similar sizes which weighed two or three times as much and have been impossible to carry. For comparison this tent weighs just over half the weight of my four year old daughter meaning its perfectly feasible for an adult to carry.
