In this, the sensational follow-up to "The Book With No Name", those who miraculously survived the blood-soaked conclusion to the first novel are back in town for another massacre to remember. Young lovers Dante and Kacy, hapless bartender Sanchez, Peto the Hubal monk and the mysterious Jessica - each will be drawn into the violent vortex surrounding the Bourbon Kid, the supernatural killer who is himself now being hunted. Hot on his heels are several vampire gangs, the US Secret Service, a couple of werewolves, some corrupt cops, and the Dark Lord himself, and none will rest until he is dead. But the Kid has vengeance of his own to wreak...Even more gripping, creepy, exciting and funny than its predecessor, "The Eye of the Moon" is a relentless page-turner guaranteed to leave you on the edge of your seat. And, as the body count climbs on the dusty streets of Santa Mondega, who will be the last one standing?

Carnage!
The Eye of the Moon is every bit as violent and gripping as The Book With No Name was, but this is much funnier and believe it or not, probably more bloodthirsty!
The story jumps back and forth in time, although not to the point where it becomes confusing. The multiple storylines are here as before and with the backstory the author has also managed to bring back some of the best characters who didn't make it to the end of the last book.
The undoubted star of the show this time is the Bourbon Kid who gets much more time on the page. To reveal too much about the plot would spoil it, but the main theme is one of revenge, and extremely violent revenge it is too. There are many more twists in this installment, and many of the characters are not what (or who) they seem.
The stream of cliffhangers and short chapters carry the story along at a pretty fast pace until the crazy topsy turvy ending. Overall, an extremely easy read. Very funny and very nasty. In fact think "The Dark Knight" only with an even more messed up hero, and a much darker tone. Oh, and Sanchez who lightens proceedings with every one liner. Well recommended if you liked the last one.
The Eye Of The Moon
The Eye Of The Moon is the RAWKING new sequel to The Book With No Name. Both these novels are rumored to have been written by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino and they certainly read like one of their movies!! This sequel doesn't disappoint and there is chaos and mayhem aplenty. If you loved The Book With No Name then you won't be disappointed in this second offering. You will though be disappointed in having to wait for a third installment! ;)
Well worth the wait!!
The book with no name left me gagging for more, I hadn't read anything like it and didn't think it would ever be matched, however it has!! Eye of the moon is well worth the wait. The characters are one hell of a bunch of misfits and monsters, with the odd clown like sanchez as an added bonus. I didnt read a page where by I didnt cringe thinking 'oh no!' Never has the phrase ' I couldn't put it down' applied more. I can't big this book ( books) up enough. Please, whoever you are, don't leave it too long for book three ( I think with be called the book of the dead? ) Gawd, I cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!! If you're reading this review with a view to reading these books, please please do, it is a world away from anything else and a true ten out of ten.
