Introduction to ritual and symbols
A good beginners' book it contains little text and lots of pictures. It is unclear whether the author is a mason or not, however the book gives no opinions (adverse or otherwise) on the Craft. It is an ideal book for someone new to the craft.
THE masonic classic
I am a freemason and have met the author (also a freemason) in person on a few occasions. He is an excellent lecturer with profound insight and a pleasure to be with--qualities reflecting on this book as well.
Apart from being beautifully illustrated, the text puts forth very clearly and succintly what the essence of Freemasonry is, or at least should be: the knowledge of one's self. This book is very highly regarded in English, Continental and American esoteric masonic circles.
Recommended both for masons and non-masons alike. If you read only one book on Freemasonry, this should be it. I'd give it 6 stars if it was possible.
Nice pIctures shame about the words
This book presents the most esoteric view of Freemasonary that I have ever come across. It does not marry up with my experiences. However that is not to say that it wasn't interesting to read someone else's view of the origins and meanings. The pictures are really good and given how cheap it is, they alone make it a worthwhile purchase as a coffee table book ie to be looked at, not read.
