Noura says: This CD is an excellent introduction to Egyptian music and I recommend it to all of my beginners. It contains some real must know tunes like "Alf Leyla Wa Leyla", "Tamr Henna" and "Zeina" all on the one CD! It also gives a good introduction to the different styles of Egyptian music (Baladi, Saidi and Oriental) as "Luxor Baladna" is a fabulously funky saidi track and "Btwanes Beek" is a great example of Baladi.
I also use this CD a lot in class as the last two tracks are great for practicing camels up and down the room and I use Oolooloo for warm ups as it's a nice tune with an even rhythm.
This CD is a definite recommendation to all beginners and teachers alike and it's track listing reads like a top ten of Egyptian tunes. Brilliant!!
