missing in action!?
amazing film, beautiful soundtrack. I highly recommend you become painfully intimate with both. One question though, where is the bonnie 'prince' billy track !!!??? it's the best and most important song in the film! was also a little dissappointed that the adem track 'statued', is the version from their album, and not the version featured in the film. d-d-d-d-dangermouse!!!
The best lo-fi folk compilation in the world - ever!
Or sumthink!?
This is an exceptional selection of tracks for an exceptional film......although perhaps a minor complaint would be that the soundtrack doesn't always seem to fit certain scenes in the film. That said as a collection of songs there are some absolute gems from the likes of Smog, Adem, The Earlies and Will Oldham.
I recommend you buy this soundtrack but more importantly I recommend you go see Dead Man's Shoes at the cinema. NOW!
Brilliant Album - - Okay Flick
The film was a bit of a dissapointment, but the soundtrack is not. It's one thing that kept me going in the film. On it's own, it's an astonishing mix of alt-country and electronica. The film is worth seeing, but the songs on this album are a must hear, if only to introduce listeners to such great artists as (Smog), M. Ward, and Calexico. Do yourself a favor and pick it up, you might just get started on a new musical path!
