Synopsis
When teenage skinhead Trevor (Tim Roth) is apprehended smashing the windows of a shop owned by Pakistanis, social worker Harry (Eric Richard) sends him to an assessment centre where Trevor proves to be far more intelligent than one would be led to believe. But he is not easily contained, and it isn't long before he's back on the streets, stealing cars and leaving a general trail of mayhem. From a fact-based screenplay by David Leland, Alan Clarke's (SCUM, THE FIRM) film is a hard-hitting drama that received almost unanimous praise when it debuted on TV in 1983. Filmed on location in London with a documentary-style approach, and featuring the blazing screen debut of Roth, MADE IN BRITAIN is a landmark of socially conscious British cinema.

Customer Reviews

I'M MORE BRITISH THAN YOU *#@$FACE!5
This is a great film right from the start when it kicks in with the jagged chords of The Exploited's 'UK82'. The acting is really good, although the language and content is definately not suitable for Mary Whitehouse followers (to hell with that lot anyway!!). The film doesn't have an ending in the usual sense, letting the viewer make up their own mind as to what happens next. This isn't a cheerful film but it does pose some interesting questions and each viewer will respond differently towards Trevor the anti-hero. Even if you're not British, this is a powerful film to watch - the facial expressions alone make this a film worth viewing!

Raw and brutal...........this is good without ever haming things up.I could happily have seen this extended as the ending leaves you wanting more..............

Watch if you think you are hard enough5
Tim Roth is a British legend. He is belivable. Great script and supporting cast. A reflection of past attitudes and times. Highly recommend. Watch and enjoy.
