Great Microwave
Looked around on the internet looking at a number of combination microwave ovens and went for this Sharp.
Now having used it for just over a month got to say I am very pleased with it. Roomy interior, 40L size, plenty of room. Easy to use. Great results.
You can also do batch cooking, using the supplied two slide-in shelves (convention only). However, you do need to turn the food manually now and again (as stated in the book), as cooking in this way tends to burn at the rear quickly, near the heat source. It's not really a problem as 95% of the time cook using the two round racks provided, on the turntable - food rotates and does not burn.
Overall, would recommend this microwave.
A Converter
I never a fan of combi but changed my mind after my other half purchased this. So easy to use, so easy to clean and by golly never known pizza to come out so well in err 5 minutes?! Brilliant.
However, there is a knack to perfecting the cooking and it comes with experimenting. So don't expect instant results - just like with anything else there is a knack to how long things are done to they way you want, as most guidance in the manual are for general advise.
Super machine
So far (used it for 2 months) it's a super machine saving oodles of power (and thus money) compared to a standard gas/electric oven. I previously used a similar but smaller Sharp combi for over 10 years, which was also brilliant except the grill didn't last long. The R98STM uses the grill to pre-heat and I worry that if the grill fails will the oven pre-heat using the electric fan? So I have purchased an extended warranty!
As on the previous oven the lamp is a 'B' to change as it necessitates removal of the complete cover to gain access. The control panel is sometimes awkward to see and I find it necessary to get myself down to eye level with the panel to see it properly. But then I am 70!
