A classy, subtle yet gripping cold-war spy adventure - my favourite Bond film. It's all there - foreign intrigue, beautiful girls, deadly villains and great acting.

In my opinion, an underrated movie with an underrated Bond. It's an action-packed global adventure, and Timothy Dalton portrays a refreshingly gritty, down-to-earth and more dangerous Bond.

Some elements are good - the oil-based plot and submarine finale. Others not so - some characters are too ridiculous and appear out of place in a film that seems to take itself more seriously.

My least favourite of the early Bonds. The exotic locations and sinister villains are there, but it seems to be rather self-consciously following a Bond formula, and is a little daft or slow at times.

The circus finale is great and the Indian locations are nice. But the theme song is the weakest yet and overall it's one of the more forgettable Bond adventures.

Despite a plot that's actually quite sinister, this is a poor offering. Lacklustre acting and villain, no chemistry between Bond and his girl, and worst of all, a complete overload of awful humour.
