Customer Reviews

When is there going to be a proper soundtrack album for this film?3
If ever a soundtrack album deserved a proper re-release with the original music from the film, not re-recordings, it's this one.

Sadly, EMI couldn't be bothered to do a proper job when they re-issued the Bond soundtracks in 2003, and as a result, apart from Live & Let Die, the only other Moore soundtrack to get the "extra music" treatment was FYEO, and that was a re-issue of the Rykodisc release from 2000.

There is, to date, no indication that the Spy Who Loved Me and the remaining Bond soundtracks will get updated - I do not believe various rumoured claims that the music does not exist anymore, simply that EMI did a botched rush-job for the 40th Anniversary, and didn't even look outside their own vaults for the extra music.

Now that EMI's distribution deal for the Bond soundtracks has apparently ended, I can only hope that Sony will do the job properly and give this film the soundtrack album that it's crying out for.

....a re-recording....3
I`ve always loved the film ever since I first watched it at the cinema back in 1977. I got the vinyl soundtrack just after I saw the film but have always been disappointed with the re-reording of the music for the fans to listen to. To me its sounds like a different arrangement of the music one being for the album and one, the original, for the actual film. When you play a John Barry album to the Bond films, and also George Martins great "Live and Let Die" album and "For Your Eyes Only" by Bill Conti, they sound like the same music you hear on the film. I`ll still have the odd listen to the album but it could have so much better.

Bond '77...5
The spy who loved me is one of the best Bond films, not just because of the great story line, but also because of the brilliant sound track. This CD is the full score, including the famous title song and the great Bond '77 theme. Included is also a very informative and useful booklet about the film and the music itself. This CD is a great addition to any Bond fans CD collection, or anyone who loves great music!
