Customer Reviews

Fine collection of rare and wonderful funk 'n' soul5
If you're into digging deeper than the usual suspects when it comes to funk/soul then this collection features many of the less known (some practically forgotten altogether) classics of the genre from one of the most under-appreciated labels of the era.
Some are downright funkin' dancefloor fillers (particularly 'Crumbs Off The Table', as covered by the Breakestra, and 'Owner Of The Honey'), others more contemplative, others absolutely wild, and most have an element of "social consciousness".
I picked this album up on double vinyl from a well reputed record shop just off market square in Nottingham for a bargain price (as well as Vol.2 which is just as good) but vinyl or CD, the tunes are still steaming hot!
