Customer Reviews
Seriously underrated gem, absolutely stunning album....
For all fans of quality soulful music. YOU NEED THIS ALBUM! People who love music such as the Gilles Petersson collections, Naked Music, Grand Central Records or old school 80s soul and funk, as well as funky US house with soul will seriously appreciate this. When I first bought this back in 99 when it came out it never left my car CD player. Superb for long drives.. It's one of those albums that makes you end up driving the long way to your destination time and time again! Norman Jay is a living legend. Anyone who's heard his shows on BBC Radio London and Kiss FM (the early days) or have seen him play out - at the carnival or otherwise (clubs such as the glam Miss Moneypenny's in Birmingham) will no doubt appreciate this.
Let the good times roll
This mix is magnificent. CD 1 is warm, funky housiness with tunes galore. CD 2 is some nu-school rare-groove bizness. Every track is a belter. Just buy it! And get yourself down Norman Jay's Good Times sound system at the Notting Hill Carnival! Proper songs and mega tunes to the fore. Love it.
