Customer Reviews
Exceptional deeply soulful dance music
Discovered Reel People by accident on a podcast listening to The Rain, probably my favourite track. Amazing soulful house music but played a by real band producing a raw and energised sound quite unlike anything I've come across for a very long time. Played a preview of Second Guess : Repackaged, was blown away and bought the album instantly. Beautiful melodies, innovative and creative use of rhythms and beats, a very funky bass and fantastic vocals by a range of lead vocalists - every track is an absolute gem. My discovery of the year - if you like soulful, funky dance music I can't recommend this highly enough. I'm now a disciple for Reel People - tell the world!
Reel Good !
Im usually cautious of reviews that read; this album draws upon soul, funk, hip hop, jazz.... bla bla, but somehow Reel people manage to combine elements from differnet genres so effectively, which makes for a truely unique and eclectic sound.
When the album was first released in 2003 it cant have recieved the recognition it deserved, two years on and repackaged on the defected label, and inclding three new tracks, i only hope more music lovers discover Reel People. This Album has not left my CD player, and should you choose to invest, it won't be leaving yours either!!
