Average customer review:Product Description
These two masters of easy-flowing smooth jazz have really done it this time: instead of merely coasting on their considerable reputations, guitarist George Benson and singer Al Jarreau collaborated on a well-considered program displaying their talents to the best possible advantage. Jarreau provides lyrics for Benson's classic "Breezin'" and both soar on inspired reinventions of two Miles Davis tunes, "Four" and "Tutu". Another highlight is "Let In Rain", which features a spirited guest vocal from Patti Austin and the beautiful Miles-ish trumpet of Chris Botti. Other guests include Herbie Hancock, Jill Scott (a fine "God Bless The Child"), and Sir Paul McCartney ("Bring It On Home To Me").

Masters together
A dream come true. The two masters of modern jazz, Al Jarreau and George Benson working together. This album naturally features the amazing vocals of Al Jarreau and the silky guitar of George Benson. The combination is just terrific. Trusted tracks like Mornin, God Bless the Child, Summer Breeze are given the full treatment. At the end of the album, Bring it on home to me with Paul McCartney - wow. It must have been something to have been in that studio!
This album is a MUST for your collection.
Solid jazz set
this album has Jill Scott on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You don't need to know anymore to buy it.
Some great re-visits to old Benson and Jarreau numbers mixed with a few standards.Sadly newer jazz fans may not understand that scatting has been an improvised vocal expression of music since the days of Ella and has been Jarreau's 'trademark' for all his (long and established!) career.
Great stuff AND Jill.A must for fans old and new!
Georgie B is back on top
Georgie B has always been one of the greatest live performers in the history on jazz music - I recommend thoroughly George Benson Live - recorded at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast quite stunning, 5 ****** plus
Some of his recent studio work, espec. the last album, has varied in
quality. Givin' It up mark a welcome return to form, with another jazz legend Al Jarreau, definitely not to be missed!
