Time Brings it's own rewards4
Now this is what I'm talking about. An Artist that's willing to take risks and not go with the road well traveled. Isn't it ironic that to do this Mr. Patterson had to step out of the major league area, and go the independent route. My advice, as many have stated in their reviews, is to give this CD some time. I can now listen to this Cd and be moved by an artist at ease with himself. 3 years in the making, this CD is well worth the wait. My favorites are: 'Cloud 9','Delirium (Comes And Goes)'Feels Good', 'No Danger', 'Water', 'Stop Breaking My Heart',Deliver Me, and 'Time', which I have this discovered. And that's the thing; repeated listening really does bring its own rewards. An artist at ease with himself, and his craft.

Hmmm...4
Now, I class myself as a true Rahsaan fan, but compared to his previous work, this album is, and it pains me to write this...NOT (in my eyes) his best work.
This could be simply because his previous work is so amazing, that it's hard to beat his previous albums and perfection is hard to repeat, or on the other hand it could be because this album has seen a change in Rahsaans style of music.
This album from any other artist would have been amazing, which is why I still recommend buying it, but from Rahsaan is not up to scratch and I find myself choosing to listen to his old stuff rather than this new album. :(

I also found the same to be true of the new Anthony Hamilton cd, his previous are fantastic but I found his new album a bit dark and disturbing, as if he wasn't in a good place when he wrote it.
I ralise this will appeal to those fans who are going through the same dark period, but I like it when artists strike a balance and have a little for everyone - no matter what place you might be at that moment in time.
