The sound of beauty from one so young
I couldn't believe such a smooth and intoxication sound could come from someone so young and beautiful, and I don't mean that in any derogatory way, her smooth voice and empowering performance gave me chills.
She reminded me so much of such great artists as Grover Washington Jr, Ornate Coleman and the great Stan Getz. I can't wait for more
Smooth & Saxy
The 2008 debut solo release from Jessy J is a fine start to any musical career.
With the able assistance of producer supreme Paul Brown, this is a set of tunes to be enjoyed whilst chilling out.
The title track and the next two set the tone nicely, followed by a passable version of the classic Mas Que Nada. Phoebe Snow's Poetry Man is given a soulful treatment, PB&J has more assistance from Mr Brown on guitar,as does Besame Mucho, featuring the vocal talents of Jessy herself. Not the most powerful voice ever recorded, but pleasent enough.
Running Away & Song for You bring the set to a smooth conclusion.
I had the pleasure of meeting the young lady herself at a recent London show, and both her looks, personality, and excellent mastery of the sax were a joy to witness!
