Video Description
Set within the gated communities of Mexico, La Zona follows three young men from the wrong side of the fence, who manage to break into `The Zone'. After an attempted burglary goes badly wrong the boys flee for their lives, however, one gets left behind and hides. The members of La Zona decide to brandish their own form of justice and a group of vigilantes is despatched to `take care' of the intruder. What follows is a dramatic cat-and-mouse game that incorporates family tensions and an impotent police force and poses the question: `How far would you go to protect your home?'

Trouble in paradise4
Had never come across this film until I was directed to it on Amazon - can safely vouch that it left me stunned after watching, smarting from what felt like a cinematic slap in the face.

La Zona sets the polar opposites of Mexico City's rich and poor on a collision course to provide a vivid and harrowing portrait of the country's social ills.

The premise for this powerful tale centres on an attempted robbery in an affluent gated community, situated amongst the cities slums. Events unfold with a sombre, unflinching realism that leaves the viewer with plenty to dwell on.

La Zona is up there with the likes of Amores Perros and Y Tu Mama Tambien. It shouldn't be missed.

The shape of things to come?4
This movie deserves to be seen. It`s not a new idea, you`ll be familier with this type of movie....maybe you`ll know what to expect.
On the night of a storm three young men climb into the walled area of `La Zona`...a robbey goes wrong and one of the young men is left to hide in `La Zona`.
The people of La Zona decide that the police must not become involved and that they will `deal` with this young man when he is caught.
What happens next will stay with you long after the film is finnished.
The filming style with short black and white security camera shots of La Zona add to the tension.
Not a Classic but a good film.
