Product Description

Devyn is a king, a warrior and an unrepentant collector of women, able to charm anyone anywhere. Except Bride. Bride McKells is a street-wise fighter but uneducated in the ways of the vampire and desperate to find another of her kind. Having never seen one, she's not even sure others are out there. Seductive Devyn has the answers she craves and can take her to the dark underground of her people. But Bride's blood might hold the key to saving Devyn's friends at AIR, Alien Investigation and Removal, so he's loathe to let her go. Especially when he begins to crave her more than he's ever craved another. Together they will enter the seedy world of slave auctions, battle a powerful alien queen whose diseased blood turns humans into cannibals, and discover a passion unlike any other. But in the end, Bride must choose between the man she's come to love and the family she's always longed for.

"Alien Huntress" series book 45
This latest offering in GS's "Alien Huntress" futuristic romance series is the best so far. The leading lovers are absolutely fabulous whilst the story line moves along at an exciting pace, weaving together three equally compelling plots. Expect plenty of one-liners, action sequences and hot love scenes.

Devyn, the Targon warrior who featured so heavily in "Enslave Me Sweetly" finally meets his match in vampire Bride McKell. Devyn is ridiculously egotistical, a complete man wh*re who has sampled nearly every race of female known throughout the universes, and completely unrepentant when he breaks hearts willy-nilly with his love `em and leave `em style. He sounds awful, but he is so funny and personable that any woman could understandably accept his philandering ways to keep him by her side. Jealousy, possessiveness and love are emotions he has never experienced, yet Devyn suddenly finds himself hoping he doesn't quickly grow bored with Bride; as is his custom when he's bedded his latest love interest. He doesn't know he's falling in love with Bride, she certainly believes he is incapable of loving her despite her own growing feelings for him, yet everyone at AIR quickly realises Bride has become someone very special in Devyn's life.

Woven into the deepening relationship between Devyn and Bride is her own search for a missing best friend and her hunt for other vampires in order to learn more of her unknown past. The AIR agents are again chasing a Schön in the hopes of discovering when and where his queen will arrive on Earth, whilst slavers are on the hunt for a female vampire, and they have their sights firmly set on Bride.

Bride and Devyn are both dazzling leading lovers and make this book an irresistible read. This perfectly matched couple's verbal sparring makes the reader smile whilst their intimate scenes are scorching as each attempt to conquer the other in the bedroom. Add in intricate plot lines and the appearance of familiar faces (such as Mia, Kyrin, Dallas, Jaxon and other AIR agents) and the result is a fun, exciting, action packed read with a heavy mix of romance and passion included.

This is the first book I've read from Gena Showalter, and it probably will also be the last. It's not a bad book, but it's a bit boring. I've actually not finished the book yet, and am not sure if I will (though I'm on page 300 and the book is only some 400 pages long). I guess I'll plough throug it...

Would have given a rating of 2.5 if that was possible ;) Not a total waste of money (as it was cheap), but would not buy it again.

great5
