A terrific Chinese movie, set in the civil war between the communists and Shang Kai Sheik's Nationalist forces. The best war movie for some time.

A very good Italian movie set in the battle of El Alamein, good prespective and a good story.

Well, non English might go a bit far, this Australian movie is centred on the battle of New Guinea and shows how much a low budget can do. I liked it to bits.

A classic horrors of war.

Russia's Vietnam War. A bit like Full Metal Jacket. Was a great hit in Russia.

Good battle scenes and among better Korean movies (from a European standpoint). Was a great hit in Korea.

The second feature is an old Italian movie of the same name as above, not the best but look out for the Italian vintage tanks.

A good Finnish movie set in Jatkosota - Continuation War following Talvisota - Winter War. It follows a scouting party into enemy territory. Also look for Talvisota, only available in the USA.

A Czech movie about forces fighting for the British in North Africa. In parts good but mostly strange and arty. Worth a look, but not a masterpiece. Dark Blue World is far superior.

The newest of the Finnish movies. Trying too hard with a limited budget. Interesting in a historical regard but no where close to Talvisota.
