This gorgeous book, chock full of photos of artist's journals is so inspiring! It has an intro which includes the history of journaling, how to physically make your own journal, and suggestions on types of journals.... All the examples are from artists and the book is encouraging for YOU to bring out your artistic side and record those thoughts, doodles or serious sketching..... This book is energizing and made me get my journal out again! You DO NOT have to be an artist to enjoy journaling.... Buy this book! you won't be disappointed.

"How to" AND lots of inspiration
Some books of this type are inspiring in a general kind of way but don't actually tell you HOW to do wax resist, or whatever.Other books may commit the opposite error-they are SO full of "how to"s, and heat-guns and fusibles and all sorts of things a beginner like me has never heard of, they become disheartening.This book is great because it doesn't presume prior knowledge but explains step-by-step- and without patronizing-various techniques. It is also illustrated. For me,the most inspiring bit of it is looking at pages from other people's diaries. And there are sections on different kinds of dairy, too-art journal, gardening journal, travel record, and so on.

Very nice.
There's lots of books out on this subject now, but this one is crisp and fresh and full of beautiful examples. Easy to follow and doesn't contain pages and pages of cheesy 'vintage' style.
