Panasonic KXTGA830 is the additional handset and charger for the Panasonic KXTG8300 DECT range. Upto 6 handsets in total can be registered to a single DECT base station. The technology it uses is DECT so the Panasonic KXTGA830 picks up a digital signal from the original telephones base station and registers to that. Every handset can then pick up calls, ring other handsets internally, and transfer to other handsets on the system.

Good value.
Really like this phone system and with this additional handset I have one in all the main rooms. It is easy to set up and I like being able to transfer the contacts list from one phone to the next.

The only hassle I have is with the answer phone that came with the base station as it is very hard to notice the little number on the handset or the dim red arrow on the base station that indicate a message is waiting.

Panasonic DECT additional handset for KXTG8320 Range
I originally purchased a "Panasonic KX-TCD240ES - Digital Cordless Answering System. I am very pleased with it, especially the functions of the base unit/answering machine. However, I found the black and white screen of the telephone very hard to see so, when I needed additional handsets, I purchased handsets for KXTG8320 Range instead. They have colour screens and are very easy to read.

I was advised by the Panasonic help desk that they could not guarantee that all functions would work with this combination. This may be the case, but so far I haven't found anything that doesn't work (including managing messages from the handset). The additional handsets look very sleek, being shiny black and chrome. The sound is excellent and they are very easy to use.

If I have one niggle it is that the base for the handset is a charger and not a docking station. The screen on the handset automatically turns off after a short while. However, when the base is switched on, ie charging, the screen on the handset never turns off. To get round this, I dock the handset in the base but only switch the base on when the handset needs charging. This means I have to check the charge when I use the handset but this is preferable to having the screen lit up all the time.

Without doubt one of the best cordless phones I have ever had,the range is exellent,answer phone is clear and crisp but what else would you expect from panasonic, would reccomend this phone to anyone and it looks good too.
