Never mind the quality ,feel the width
I suppose one shouldn't carp too much about so much great music so cheap ,but the producers of the set have used a very rudimentary form of audio " restoration " ,in fact ,something akin to what one would find in a bog standard wave editing programme .
At times ,it sounds like the music is being played through a low "Q " wah wah pedal !!
I've been a recording engineer for 37 years so I think I have the credentials to comment !
BUT...it's still great content because those guys were the masters and even after 70 years ,their music is still very vibrant .Perhaps best not listening to it on headphones...better on a cheapo portable cd player costing about £15 from the supermarket .
