Product Description

Are there still smugglers at Smuggler's Top? The Famous Five go to stay at the large old house and discover secret hiding places and underground tunnels! Then they catch people signalling out to sea - who can these smugglers be?
Can Julian, Anne, Dick, George and Timmy the dog discover the answer?

In Five Get Into a Fix, the Five are ski-ing - having lots of fun in the snow! But it's not long before they have a new mystery to solve: who is living in the mysterious house near the chalet they're staying in? The caretaker says nobody has lived there for years, but the Five are sure they've seen a face at one of the windows . . . A terrified, haunted face, too. Have the gang got the courage to go close enough to the house to find out . . .?

Five Go to Smugglers Top - the first ever FF book I read5
Reading this book started me on a long, long, journey with the Famous Five books that, even as a 40-plus year old I still re-visit from time to time. The memory of reading about the secret passages, the marsh, deaf Block, Mr Barling and all the other sinister characters in that most sinister of settings, absolutely fascinated and riveted me to the book and I never looked back. It is still my favourite of them all.

Exciting book5
It is very exciting book . I especially enjoyed the part where Timmy the dog 'legged it' to save uncle Quentin and Pierre.

A house full of secrets5
The best adventure yet in the series. The Famous Five spend their holidays at Smuggler's Top, an isolated house full of secrets. There, they have another exciting adventure in the underground passageways they discover.
At times, the book is dating itself by the frail role the woman of the house plays and by the language and expressions all characters are using. However, this does not diminish the quality of the stories. Not only children will enjoy reading these adventures.
