You've been tango'ed
Tango to me has always been nice, but a bit cheesey, a formula that conjours up a set of images and moods that are always the same, because the music also tends to be always the same. I saw this lot on the BBC's world music awards, and immediately had my preconceptions shattered. Yes this was tango, but the dj on the turntable??? Surely some mistake??? Here's a startlingly original approach of dusting down a venerable genre, and creating a fresh, inspiring and completely convincing state that exceeds the sum of its parts.

Unconvincing
I bought this in the hope that it would be good but was disappointed. On listening to the album Una Música Brutal stood out as startlingly beautiful but the rest of the album felt like the same piece being played over and over and over...

tango for teenagers
Before this album tango was not much appreciated and listened to by many young people. This CD brought a whole new generation of people into tango world. It also was good enough to be used by many TV stations in various ways and many advertisers used many of the tracks to promote interesting products. In short it made tango more accessible to the listeners who would otherwise not choose tango as their type of music. This particular version has an addes DVD which has a superb Black & white promo for Santa maria de Buenos Aires track. I highly recommend this Cd to all interested in lively & danceable music.
