Deceptively titled. It's not a Best of or Collection. It's a trip. Tracks are often blended together, snippets drifting in and out of focus. Has to be heard to be understood.

Exhumes the cliched sub-genre of “the break-up album” and out-does everything else within its field.

Friendships can be spawned from a mutual love of Belle and Sebastian. This is probably the best place to start.

Near-perfect melodic power pop. REM, Primal Scream and The Replacements would sound very different without this....

My personal favourite jazz album. Simultaneously cool and wistful.

If I could only pick one Bjork LP it would be this one. Everything sounds at once natural and artificial and can change from joyful to anguished like a lightswitch.

It took me months to like this album as much as I do now. It takes a fair few listens but it is worth it. A half-remembered childhood dream played on scrambled synthesizers and drum machines. Superb.

One of the best ever break-up records. Frosty, ghostly and devastating. If you're not moved you have no heart.

Technology will date, so sounding futuristic won't last forever. AGW doesn't sound futuristic but these songs are great enough to last a very long time. (see also Here Come The Warms Jets)
